Best newsfeed app

The Mac desktop version is mostly identical to the web version except a few advantages as mentioned in feature list from the author. It feels robust and responsive which are some noticeable advantages over the web version. I concur with another reviewer that it seems this app is a native shell enclosing the web version. Overall, it’s the best newsfeed app I know of.

update needed

It’s OK, but it does need update. The last update was two years ago, huh?

Good but just a web app

It’s pretty good, but doesn’t bring anything compared to the website… except the « unread counter ». It would be great that ⌘w close the current tab (like any other software) and not the whole window (containing many tabs). Another request would be ctrl+tab and ctrl+shift+tab to navigate between tabs (like in chrome, firefox, safari etc.).

App still buggy!

The app seems to be a beta version! Really buggy! Feeds do not refresh and the articles are most of the times not correctly displayed and mismatchly placed!

Zoom

Nice app! it has the same feel as the browser version. However, it desperately needs a zoom feature as I can not see the small print. Zoom under the Windows tab actually shrinks the screen!

Not bad, feels web based

Not a bad app, but it feels a lot web based. Also, the scrolling is a bit choppy with the side bar and top bar. They seem to glitch a lot. Other than that, it does provide a cool app for the best RSS parser there is out there. Hat’s off.

Best Newsreader

Google Reader upset the traditional RSS newsreader experience nearly 10 years ago. Feedly came along and put a refined experience on top of Google’s clunky interface. Since then, Feedly’s evolved and become available as a consistent experience on every device and platform. This is the same as the browser based versions, but as a stand-alone, provides clean separation from your browser for reading articles and headlines or hopping directly into Safari or Chrome. It works well, is unobtrusive, and will feel familiar for users on mobile or tablet.

Please support "paste" on long-pressing the Search Dialog Box in iPhone and iPad app to insert speci

he standard iOS keyboard behaviour on text input fields long-press is to show a context menu style "PASTE" button. To add specific RSS feeds to the reader, copy-paste of precise URLs is very important but now I have to add each URLs from my Mac browser. iPhone/iPad aap was working smoothly before. iOS or App updating probably has caused this issue. Unfortunately, I have to switch Feedly app to another app till this issue fixed. Feedly is my most favorite one, I hope this function will come back soon.

Thanks for clean and fast app...

Hello, its great to use but what about the notification when we get new rss update ? Is there any plan for this ? Thanks.

On the big screen looks bad, the whole text in the center in a small column.

A bug

Sidebar and top bar are both jump during scroll. This is pretty annoying.

Total Failure

The latest update is 100% unusable.

Gorgeous!

Feebly for Mac is a gorgeous application (might just be one of the most beautiful looking applications I have used so far). I have no complaints right now. Keep up the great work!

Good app

Expect more options in the future upgrades.

Ditto Great Start Feelings

Love the look of it. REALLY love the badge number in the dock and that it seems to check the feeds fairly regularly. Would be nice to have a user settable “check for new articles every X minutes” option (for those that might want a less frequent check [not me]). Maybe a tie-in to the Notification Center for alerts: “Notification when N new articles are available” (instead of having to keep dipping down to Dock, when busy in apps on the screen; minor nit imo). Will be interesting to see what’s added down the road.

The best alternative to google reader

Although I wish to see more of its native features ;-)

Make it native, or don’t even bother

It’s like they didn’t take into account how people actually read RSS feeds natively on OS X. Web Apps don’t belong in the Mac App Store, and if we wanted to wrap Feedly into one, it’s easy enough to use Fluid to do so. Shame on you.

OK for now

This app suffers from a curious “feature”. When i am scrolling through my unread feed, i click on an entry and the url opens in my browser. when i switch back to feedly, i am no longer viewing my feed in the place i left off. The feed refreshes at what appears to be an almost constant rate behind the scenes when it is not “focused”. This means that every time i switch back to my feed, i have to scroll through articles i have already skimmed to get to the spot i left off with the last article. This makes the app almost unusable as I eventually get frustrated and close the app.

Still Great Native App But Needs Improvement

Aside from the native app improvements others have noted, myself included, with the previous version the addition of opening links in the app as tabs introduced the bug where the Apple-W shortcut closes the window and not the active tab. As a native app, following web browsers’ examples, the Apple-W shortcut must close tabs before closing the window. Then, perhaps, as a fullscreen app (when in that mode, as I always use it in) the Apple-W shortcut should be disabled when only the main tab is open.

Need copy link and open in browser functions

The user needs to have the ability to copy an article link (either from the share icons or by control-click) and to view an article/tab in default Web browser.
